Ever since I moved off campus into an apartment, I’ve been lucky enough to have front-loaded exams (3 in 28 hours woohooo). Lucky in the sense that I get to stick around Chapel Hill and spend some time hanging out before going home to Virginia, anyways. Not getting kicked out of dorms 24 hours after your last exam means 1) getting to spend time with friends who are done without the stress of schoolwork looming over your head, and 2) playing “finals fairy”! When I was a freshman on the club gymnastics team, older teammates would bring baked goods to people still studying on reading days (university-mandated days off in between exam days). It’s been a lot of fun to continue the tradition myself, especially because I never really have time to bake for fun during the semester.

This year, I decided to use up a jar of Nutella I had sitting in my pantry and found this beautifully simple recipe . I always try to go for some easily portable, non-messy treats for the libraries, and these don’t disappoint. The texture is great and the sprinkle of sea salt rounds out the flavor – even though if you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I don’t normally like salty & sweet. Make these little bites of joy if you need something quick and giftable this winter – the Nutella lovers in your life will love you!
