June in Pictures

I know I’m supposed to be posting July in pictures at this point, but I’ve been in Taiwan with spotty internet access for three weeks so forgive me. Also, I have more than 600 photos to sort out and choose from for the month of July, so it inevitably has to be its own post. Here is June in Pictures, even though I feel like this stuff happened a year ago!

Prom Rainbow

My favorite prom pictures are the ones with the girls standing in rainbow order – this one was taken after trekking down a steep muddy hill behind the house we were at. Wearing heels for that was tons of fun!

Jefferson Memorial

Our prom was held at the Key Bridge Marriott in Washington, D.C – we had an awesome floor-to-ceiling view of the city from the capitol ballroom. Adhering to TJ tradition, we took pictures in front of the Jefferson Memorial beforehand, but it was already dark by the time we got into the city after dinner (Brio’s Tuscan Grille).

Relay for Life

This year marked my fifth Relay for Life and 4th year as a team captain. If you don’t know what Relay is or have never been involved, I encourage you to check it out! It’s an all-night walk to raise money for the American Cancer Society. If cancer has touched your life in any way, there is reason enough to get involved and help create a world with more birthdays.

Last but not least, I had the honor of sitting through the commencement ceremony for our graduating class of 452 students – and I’m officially a TJ alum! I attended my college orientation shortly after, and then rushed back home to make a wedding cake and pack for Taiwan… more on that later 🙂

  1. This is not a baking entry… I thought since you had a picture of rainbow color dresses that there would be cake in rainbow colors, but I was sadly mistaken. >:[
